Dr. V. Bhattacharya, Ex-Senior Professor & Head, Department of Plastic Surgery, IMS, BHU, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, was born on 22 April 1950 in London, UK.
His supremacy in Plastic Surgery with an experience of 50 years can be deduced from the satisfaction, appreciation, and acknowledgement accorded to him by the enormous number of patients who have undergone his treatment. His pleasant personality, cordial behavior, and refined manners add to his credit. He gives his patients a patient hearing and advises them correctly.
As a true humanitarian, his contribution to society is immense. Rectifying birth anomalies, he has brought a smile to many faces. Job-oriented cosmetic surgeries have helped in the rehabilitation of professionals like models, sportspersons, receptionists, dancers, etc. Marriage-seeking patients have also succeeded in their mission through his scar-free surgeries. Committed to the cause of human suffering, he has actively participated in free medical camps, serving the lower socio-economic sections of society.
He has served at the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU as an efficient and dedicated teacher with a strong inclination toward research, applying positive results to enhance the efficacy and quality of reconstructive surgeries. He has mentored many students who are now established as capable Plastic Surgeons across the country.
As the President of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (2008), he has been honored with several awards and recognitions and has earned national and international acclaim for his work.
